HeadShots FAQ

Can I do my own make up?
Yes of course, but most people are not skilled in doing make up for the camera. To have this done professionally will make a difference in the final product. Time needs to be allowed for you to look your best.

What should I wear?
We will talk about wardrobe before the photo shoot.
Always bring clothes that match your style and personality.
Stay away from clothes with busy patterns. Solid soft tone colors are best.
Check and make sure your outfits are clean and suits are neat and pressed.
Blue jeans look good (unless they are torn and ragged).
Get plenty of rest, and drink plenty of water the day before your shoot. It is amazing for your skin.
Leave distracting jewelry at home the focus is on you not accessories.
Dress comfortable but classy. Stay away from clothes that are too tight or uncomfortable.

How long does it take to get my pictures back?
Once you have selected your choices you will receive your retouched images within a week.

How do I know which images to choose?
• If you are an actor going after a certain type of acting such as theater, commercials, TV, film, or spokesperson, try and think what a casting director will be looking for. The more looks you choose, the more options you will have for different jobs.
• If you have an agent, it is vital to get the agents opinion when choosing your headshot. Agents know what kind of image will get you a call-back. What you may like personally may not help you get work.

• If you are a professional you may want to check with your company to find out if they have any specific guidelines for your headshot. They may want to match your look with what has been done before so that your image will fit in with the others. Some businesses want their people to wear a suit.

How much retouching do you do?
*I use color correction, cropping, eliminating blemishes, and some lightening and darkening. More major retouching can be done for an extra charge.

How much do you charge?
*You will find my prices competitive. The more looks you commit to having done in your session the more options you will have. Most people want at least two poses. Once we determine what you want I will go over the pricing with you.
